Meet new team members Maya and Jemima

Afrocats proudly introduce you to Maya and Jemima, two trainee artists who started with us this year.

Maya Marsh

Maya is in her final year at Northern School of Contemporary dance in Leeds where she's been training for four years. She loves contemporary dance because it is a creative outlet with lots of variety, celebrating individual differences and self-expression.

Alongside and during her training Maya has been teaching movement classes for a range of community groups and schools.

She believes moving is an empowering tool for confidence, empathy and enjoyment.

Maya is working on both our Youth of the World and Natives of the World Programmes

Jemima Sofini

Hello, my name is Jemima Sofini, and I've always wanted to be a writer and actor.

My goals have guided me to becoming a member of this incredible squad as an assistant director for Afrocats, alongside other brilliant artists and Magdalen. I am a full-time acting student at UCLan.

My focus will be on drama, and my aim will be to foster innovation and imagination while still having fun.

Jemima is working on our Youth of the World programme.

Watch this space to see what they get up to!
